An absurd number of unit types and varied terrain mean shit when the energy sources are inexaustible. You can fine tune your skirmish forces to perfectly fit the terrain as much as you'd like, but the game allows 200 units on screen at once, and thats exactly how many i'm going to overrun you with as i keep cranking out units and sending them towards your base. This game can be won without ever having seen the enemies base, so long as you know what direction to point your massive replenishing army towards and you can click "build tank drone" faster.
You know, that was pretty much my reaction when I tried the demo way back in the day. Seemed like there were 50 variants of "tank" and "light tank", none of which seemed that unique or specialized. A $500 tank seemed exactly twice as effective as the $250 tank. I just built a fuckload and blindly threw them at the enemy and.....won.
But I just figured that after all these years of rapid fans still holding it up as the pinnacle of the RTS genre, maybe I had missed something. Maybe it was just that demo mission I had played. Maybe the full version really did have this giant array of units and tactics everyone was talking about.
Or maybe this was just another mysteriously overhyped Kohan or Seven Kingdoms. I vaguely remember SB loving it, which is a bad sign for an RTS.
BUT! Since i guess warez frightens and confuses you, i'd be happy to send this game to you, as i would love to be able to tell my cousin i sent off his faggot game to a complete stranger, like so much chain letter, to become someone elses problem. Let me know!
Nixon? Is that you?
I finally found a torrent link so I'll see how that goes. If not, then I may just hit you up, but I get the feeling that you just want to burn a copy and pass it on to me in order to keep this from happening. I'll have seven days to give it to one of my friends before a jagged triangle shambles out of my monitor.
