I R INSTLIGN IT NOW by laudablepuss 05/14/2005, 2:45pm PDT
Looking at the strategy guide, there are three RPS systems: one for land units, one for air units, one for naval units. Okay, sure. The land one is a big circle of 6 unit types with arrows between each one pointing clockwise. A unit that takes on the unit one step clockwise gets a 1.5 damaga multiplier and if it takes on the unit two steps away, it gets a 1.25 multiplier. Sounds good to me.

But, uh, Light Mounted is two steps counterclockwise from Heavy Mounted. So, you should counter Heavy Cav with Light Cav? Hur? Same with Light Infantry vs Heavy Infantry. Light gets a 1.25 vs Heavy. The hell? Who came up with this system?

So here's the circle spread out as a line for you to examine:
Light Infantry -> Heavy Artillery -> Heavy Infantry -> Light Mounted -> Light Artillery -> Heavy Mounted -> Light Infantry again

Looking at it, I think I want an army of all Heavy Cav and Heavy Infantry. Which makes sense. An army of Light Cav and Light Infantry should get cut to ribbons by that. So the result is good, even though it means that my Heavy Cav has to run away from the Light Cav and hide behind the pikemen. I'm so confused.
