- Ghostbusters commentary track.
This is tied for #1 best commentary track evar. It's very informative (meh), but more importantly, these guys are fucking funny. They have an MST3K view where they can be viewed at the bottom of the screen, but there isn't much point to that. Truth be known, a lot of the fun facts you get in it are really interesting, too, re: how they got permits and shit.
- Evil Dead II commentary track.
Also (meh) informative, but holy fuck are these guys hilarious. As far as I know, this is the only audio record of Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell talking at the same session, and Jesus Christ it's hilarious. They even included one guy (a makeup guy) that wasn't at the set and is completely heartbroken every time they reveal some ghetto bullshit goof that made it onto the screen. "I'm going to be tormented by this forever!"
- Moulin (yeah, I know - gay) Rouge - music production extras.
They interview Fatboy Slim. 'Nuff said.
- Pee Wee's Big Adventure commentary track and composer's commentary (if you're a film music dork).
Tim Burton and Paul Reubens together - hilarious freaktalk ensues. They start out by revealing that A: all of the insane props owned by Pee Wee were actually Burton and Reuben's own possessions, and not studio props, and B: that the amusing on-purpose goofs (the sign on the railroad track, the revolving chain on the bike) weren't on purpose after all, and partway in just start making shit up that is obviously not true.
The composer's commentary is a very in-depth retrospective by Danny Elfman (yay!) re: his first real gig, very interesting.
Honorable Mention: Commentaries for The Mummy and The Mummy Returns - the director is a funny guy and likes to point out a lot of errors. Best part is where he disses Roger Ebert for pointing out a breach of the laws of physics. "He thought this was a documentary."
Hall of Shame: Commentaries for Airplane! (awful, just awful) and The Royal Tennenbaums (boooooring).
