Asinine leftists exist in both parties. The Patriot and DMCA acts were both supported by Reps and Dem's, the former on the "holy shit 9/11" basis and the latter on the "they sure do give a lot of cash" ticket. In fact, if you look at the latter in particular you'll note the majority of the sponsors were...Democrats! (gasp!). Faith based charities were definitely a Republican mistake, with the exception of fruitcakes like Lieberman, but they were hardly the OMFG threat to separation of church and state that hysterics (you) paint it as.
Either way, it is hardly the province of the right, as there are precious few of them anyway. And some of them are nuts. If I were you, I wouldn't assume that just because someone despises your views/herd necessarily means they are onboard with the nearest possible rival to them.


If the right wing wants to rewrite the constitution, then let them rewrite the constitution and see how that plays. Pulling this kind of backdoor "I'm going to pretend that the fundamental laws of the Republic don't exist because God told me so" bullshit is precisely why America needs the courts, and you need to sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up. Not because you don't have a right to speak, because you do... but because I love you, you silly goose, and I can't bear to see you look more and more ig'nint with each post.


You completely misunderstand the role precedent plays in our legal establishment if you think the mafia tactics of certain trial lawyers have anything to do with them. And you are especially ignorant if you regard lawyers and judges as somehow immune to the same craven desire to corrupt the constitution and the country for whatever mindless crusade is moistening their panties today. Try applying that same degree of suspicion with which you regard any form of private industry to those who work for your beloved government, and you might come off as less of a Seattle-WTO-riot jackass. I doubt it, though.

In particular, look at the California and New Jersey supreme court decisions of the last decade or so, fr'instance. I think even you might take issue with their simultaneously creative yet stupid interpretations.
