The Patriot and DMCA acts were both supported by Reps and Dem's, the former on the "holy shit 9/11" basis and the latter on the "they sure do give a lot of cash" ticket. In fact, if you look at the latter in particular you'll note the majority of the sponsors were...Democrats! (gasp!). Faith based charities were definitely a Republican mistake, with the exception of fruitcakes like Lieberman, but they were hardly the OMFG threat to separation of church and state that hysterics (you) paint it as. Either way, it is hardly the province of the right, as there are precious few of them anyway. And some of them are nuts. If I were you, I wouldn't assume that just because someone despises your views/herd necessarily means they are onboard with the nearest possible rival to them. And you are especially ignorant if you regard lawyers and judges as somehow immune to the same craven desire to corrupt the constitution and the country for whatever mindless crusade is moistening their panties today. Try applying that same degree of suspicion with which you regard any form of private industry to those who work for your beloved government, and you might come off as less of a Seattle-WTO-riot jackass. I doubt it, though. In particular, look at the California and New Jersey supreme court decisions of the last decade or so, fr'instance.
