DEPTHS OF WAR
Depths of war is a ground assault/naval assault mod. featuring over 30 of the most recent additions to arsenals of all nations. it features realistic teamplay enviornments and objective fed online map play. the versatility of the half life engine allows for the realism involvled in warfare. we will be including these features into the mod, such as limbs being removed by certain bullet calibers, and otherwise. the map systems will be based on objectives for both teams, each objective vital for the completion of the map and based on the teamplay of the players. the weapons arsenal will be divided up between the lead teams, each team having its own selection of powerful and versatile weapons to complete their given tasks.
conflictNo: I've just read all of that and processed nothing.
conflictNo: But there's no time for reading when a .338 Lapua is about to remove my arm.
conflictNo: Or there may be, I don't really know what's being presented here.
Fussbett: There is definitely going to be a need for an in-game spreadsheet, what with all the weapon dividing and selecting.
conflictNo: My limbs are going to be shot off just like in real war, or otherwise!
Fussbett: Well whatever happens, this realistic team based mod is not Counter-Strike.
Jhoh Cable: It combines ground fighting with naval fighting by giving you the ability to walk on water.
Jhoh Cable: They've made it so that the Source engine can tell how hard the water is, and if it's hard enough to walk on, it lets you walk.
Jhoh Cable: And it does this by using simple textures to tell the difference!
Jhoh Cable: For example, using the "tile floor" texture.
Jhoh Cable: Clearly, the theme song for this mod is "Walk on Water" by Eddie Money. :(
Fussbett: I think they were shooting for realism.
Fussbett: And now you've got them walking on water while listening to Eddie Money. You're fired.
Ray of Light: Brainstorm: warfare realism, GO! .... limbs removed and... nothing. That's it. I'm dry.
Fussbett: Did you say dry? How about NAVAL forces? Done.
Ray of Light: objectives vital for map completion + objectives based on teamplay + online = no map cycling.
Ray of Light: the server will load one map and run it forever.
Jsoh Cable: o boy Im gonna have to rely on my team for this mod
Jsoh Cable: thats always great in a free network fps action game
Jsoh Cable: just slap together some weapon modifications and model replacements and then expect everyone to teamplay
Jhoh Cable: The mere mention of realistic teamplay environments convinces me that this is going to be the best mod ever.
Fussbett: You're a fan of teams and reality.
Jhoh Cable: Whenever teamplay is used in a game, the only way to make it better is to use lots of reality.
conflictNo: I hope that most of these mod makers end up drafted. |
