EUROPEAN BATTLEFIELDS

European Battlefield is a German Half Life 2 modification started in March, 2003. We, the European Battlefields Team, want to create a modification which has a common topic - the Second World War - but which also should have a totally different game play / experience. We are trying to show all aspects of the Second World War, not only some wars which were, of course, important for the history, but which do not show the feelings of the European citizens. Instead of this we are trying to create a game in which the player is able to identify himself with a soldier and / or a young boy which has lost his whole family. This is only one of the characters you will hopefully find in our modification. European Battlefields should also present realistic weapons and battlefields of Europe. There won't be any Terminators being able to kill a whole army.
One of our biggest aims is to find an almost perfect mixture between a balanced/ non-frustrating and realistic modification. Although a realistic game play primes, we will avoid splatter effects. We have already seen enough blood... For us it's also important to show the German view on this topic. This doesn't mean that we are all Nazis (surely not), but there are a lot of prejudices around the world about us:

"Hey guy, not every German was / is a Nazi; we want to forget this part of our history, but we shouldn't!"

Maybe we can change the attitude of some people with our game.
