NATIONAL CRISIS
National Crisis is a first-person shooter modification for Valve's Half Life 2 in which players take part in a full-scale modern world war in which all Europe has collaborated against American forces in a quest for the last remaining oil fields. The player can choose to side with either team as the European army go to war with America with their finest soldiers and weaponry from all nations.
Jhoh Cable: A first person shooter mod for HL2! Finally something new. Oh wait.
Jhoh Cable: I hope these guys know how to code so you could play Half-Life 2 in first person.
Jhoh Cable: Going to war with America with the finest soliders and weapons from all nations? Does that include America as one of those nations?
Jhoh Cable: Because when they say "finest," they can't mean Luxemburg. :(
Fussbett: It gets a little complicated at the end there.
Jhoh Cable: Mod by: Hitler.
Jhoh Cable: I wonder if the surprise end of that mod will be discovering an alternate form of fuel or something.
Jhoh Cable: Whoever wins, when the last of the oil runs out, I bet both sides are going to feel pretty silly for fighting over it. :(
Fussbett: Stop improving the mods, Jhoh.
Jhoh Cable: :(
Jhoh Cable: I'm sure people would get tired of that mod long before an alternate form of fuel is found anyway.
Jhoh Cable: Or actually an alterante form of fuel will be found before the mod is even 1% completed.
...
Ray of Light: No political agenda here
INC: a war so global it could only be called a National Crisis
Ray of Light: I think it should be named INTERnational Crisis
Ray of Light: or possibly CRISIS: International
INC: I want to get out of this mod. Who do I talk to?
INC: This mod seems too cheerful about global conflict. It's full-scale, modern, with fine weapons and soldiers. A grand endeavor!
Fussbett: I like that the middle east doesn't figure in at all.
Ray of Light: And that he strongly implies Europe will win.
Fussbett: Well it's a collaboration.
Ray of Light: This mod is doubly fanciful!
Fussbett: So that's Italy again in the mix.
Ray of Light: Like that (collaboration) would ever happen. Triply fanciful.
Fussbett: Korea: Forgotten.
Fussbett: The bottom line is that a strong euro means that the belgian mod makers are getting cocky.
Ray of Light: Win a war?! I mean, they can't even watch Region 1 DVD's.
Ray of Light: That would be the Navaho for the 21st century
Fussbett: Code talker = NTSC
Fussbett: "European Army" = Germans and English fighting side by side. Brings a tear to your eye.
INC: As long as it's against the Americans, everyone is happy
Fussbett: Asia: rooting from the sidelines.
INC: Prius: still not selling well
Fussbett: Much like spray paint on a picket sign, this mod makes a brash political statement, but doesn't have to elaborate (aka: work on the mod).
INC: working on it would just limit its scale when they've already created and amazing mod in my mind. Why ruin it by trying to make it run on my PC?
...
Jsoh Cable: I cant wait to team up with sniveling capitulators who are silently breeding their whole way of life out of existence
Jsoh Cable: or maybe I will just join america and fucking split heads
Jsoh Cable: it should be an interesting mix to see europe align themselves with the worst of the world just to oppose america
Jsoh Cable: Im looking forward to this shit
Jsoh Cable: were going to ruin somebodys day
Jsoh Cable: I will calmly approach the world scumfuckery forces and announce that I am defecting from the american side
Jsoh Cable: and they overjoyously welcome me to their command center
Jsoh Cable: then, bkayum a fucking machine gun bullet right into their nose
Jsoh Cable: and the player sprays his monitor with spittle |
