RESISTANCE AND LIBERATION

RnL is a mod being developed for Half-Life 2. The mod is based during the greatest war known to man: World War 2. RnL isn't going to be your standard arcade shooter, instead it will bring you more in tune to your character than ever. Realism runs deep at RnL, so don't expect quick bouts of bloody choas.

conflictNo: Am I the one that always makes the chaos so bloody?
Fussbett: I was expecting it to be a standard arcade shooter. So yeah, I think you're the choas expecter.
Fussbett: I had a bout of bloody choas once.
Fussbett: I couldn't wear shorts that summer.
Fussbett: haha
Ray of Light: Yeah and he says the bouts won't be quick either
Fussbett: I'm laughing at my own line.

Fussbett: Well, this mod will get me in tune with my character, so I guess that's good.
Ray of Light: Again I'm expected to tune into my character. Like if you're Italian and you hit a shot, you'll be booted for OOC behaviour
Fussbett: It's like a soul searching retreat but in mod form.
Fussbett: We have two different interpretations of the author's vision.
Fussbett: Which is a sign of depth in art.
Ray of Light: Both valid
Ray of Light: RnL is what you make it, just like life. Again, realism runs deep.
Fussbett: This mod really stands up to scrutiny.
Ray of Light: You could bribe a guard and defect to a safe country like Canada.
Ray of Light: And make a new life there
Jhoh Cable: I can't wait for their realism.
Fussbett: Realism means slow, protracted bouts of sanitary order. Not quick bouts of bloody whatever.
Jhoh Cable: I bet it's like the most fun realism ever.
Jhoh Cable: I hope that you have to occasionally clean your gun while prone AND ducking in this mod.
Jhoh Cable: Because realism makes any game better.
Jhoh Cable: Also, in order to get a gun, you have to assemble it piece by piece, then it lets you join the game.
Jhoh Cable: How did "realism" become a crutch in the mod world?
Jhoh Cable: Somehow, realism doesn't really mean realism, but "ridiculous game rules and handicaps that make you want to quit and play something that is actually fun FOR A CHANGE."
Jhoh Cable: They add realism by handicapping all the fun shit that was already built into HL2.
Jhoh Cable: What is this, a fun weapon? We have to get rid of this, it isn't realistic enough.
Jhoh Cable: I hope to make a mod that gets rid of all the unrealistic stuff in HL2, so instead of you fighting alien swarms and weird military alien somethings by using a gun that suspends objects in zero gravity and fires it at them, you just walk around trying to keep your gun from flying straight up in the air after pulling the trigger.

INC: interestingly enough, the greatest war known to dog was Vietnam, since almost no dogs were used in it at all

INC: unlike other WWII mods, they don't get tied down to listing the various sides you can fight for

INC: there is one ironic thing about all these "realistic" World War 2 mods:
INC: no matter how realistic they claim to be, it's a sure bet anyone who actually fought in World War 2 would suck at them
