Has anyone been in a fistfight where the block button is actually useful? You're pretty much guaranteed to lose the boxing match if you block even once, since as soon as you stop attacking the AI starts tapping you with little rapid-fire jabs that "recharge" faster than you can get out of your blocking stance and serve to fuck you up enough to knock you off your feet. I assume the karate match is the same deal, except I passed up the joy of scientific discovery in favor of the less transcendent but by no means inferior joy of stomping on an elderly Chinese man's ribcage until he died. Hell, once you get out of the ring most people on the street don't even bother to block, although a cop with his nightstick out will usually do it once or twice before mysteriously allowing himself to be pummeled again. I guess maybe if you played against another human there might be some point to it but right now it seems that even the NPCs know what a waste of time it is.
My secret pony princess wish: instead of Block, have it be Hold and Throw. Grab a cop in the middle of a firefight and hold him hostage! Max out your muscle stat and chuck people into traffic, into water, into each other! Throw a crate at a hooker! ANYTHING BUT THIS FUCKING RC MISSION JESUS |
