Hmm, I noticed that you left out my entire text except for one quote. Instead of making blanket accusations, why not try addressing some of my points?

How is that out of context or not relevant? RPGs force you to make tradeoffs. It's part of the strategy of character building, and what a lot of people find enjoyable about RPGs. And you're blowing off SS2's RPG elements as "a cheap trick to increase replayability." Insanity
But maybe you're making the case the game is unwinnable with certain (or too many) combinations, so you posit a circumstance that you feel is impossible, and then I provide several ways to solve your problem, thus proving you wrong with a motherfucking vengence. But yes, there are certain combinations that may be impossible to play the game with, but I think you'd have to try to screw up your character to get one. All you need to win the game, I believe, is a weapon skill, a little research skill (the game actually gives you the modules and tells you to get some research skill), and... I think that's it. But even if it's true that there are unwinnable setups and it's a game killing attribute, you better be ready to hate nearly every RPG in exsistence. Try an only fighters specializing with daggers setup in BG2, you will die. Try a using thief only specializing in clubs in Torment, you (probably) will die (haven't tried this, but strongly suspect it's true). Don't even get me started on Diablo 2, half the fucking skills in that game are useless. Similarly, as long as you avoid obviously idiot setups in SS2 and apply modules in a semi-intelligent manner, you can survive. As a last resort, you can even adjust the difficulty.
The above line about rocket launchers and air vents was more a throw away line. I mean, in a game that has a lot of diverse options, why did you bring up the decision to choose air vent or rocket launcher? Why not bring up the ability to save your brother rather than leaving him to die? The neat multiple endings? You could even bring up the strategy involved in choosing which aug to take for each body part. Oh wait, you'd rather cheat code so you wouldn't have to make that decision.
