You know what? The liklihood that anything will happen anywhere approaches one as time increases, you fatuous fucking gasbag.
How about the likelihood of two things that are mutually exclusive, like the likelihood of someone dying of stomach cancer and the likelihood of that same person dying of a stroke, do both of those approach one as time increases? No, I guess not. Oh well, it probably sounded pretty profound when you first thought of it.

Actually, the probabilities in that instance aren't mutually exclusive, only the outcome. A horse race would have worked better.

Yeah, I was thinking you can only die once, so the likelihood of you dying from various causes might go up and down but eventually, once you actually do die from something, probably chronic boredom, the odds that you are going to die from anything else are going to be pretty much pegged to zero no matter how much time increases. But it wasn't the best example because as you grow old your cancer and stroke odds do basically increase, whereas your odds of dying from sudden infant death syndrome are probably decreasing so maybe I should have used that - also it's funny! What do you want, I'm rusty. The bigger mistake you should have ponted out is me prancing in like Rainbow the Pony to defend the honor of Hokie Mokie when obviously no backup was needed. But I can't resist a metaphysical conundrum like "does the likelihood of all events approach one as time increases?" because, as I have attempted to make abundantly clear, I like puzzles! This issue sort of reminds me of the guy who came up with the theory that you can get a good rough estimate of the probable lifespan of any object you encounter by taking how long it's been around and multiplying by two - the idea being that most random objects you encounter you are likely to be encountering somewhere in the middle of their lifespan as opposed to on either extreme end. Speaking of odds I am completely and utterly obsessed with poker right now, it's so much harder and more interesting than I thought. Do any of you guys play low stakes holdem online and, if so, where? And now, since I am determined to make this my personal threadblog here's another question for y'all: does anyone remember the planetarium mod that played all of the mp3's on your computer? I can't find it.
