Slander is spoken, so we can disregard that right away.
Parody has to involve imitation, so unless you want to claim that Caltrops is a parody of a serious video game review site, thus discrediting everything we say as a joke from now on, parody does not fit.
Satire works better because it can be described as "trenchant wit, irony, or sarcasm used to expose and discredit vice or folly". Why you think parody would be legally protected while satire would not, I can only assume is because sometimes the courts will get confused -- and rightfully so. The cases that end up in court where satire loses to libel are usually because a student newspaper or malicious website will post things like "Joe Shmoe, convicted pedophile and arsonist, fucked another sheep yesterday." thinking it's hilarious. |
