Another old OMM post. by Jhoh Creexul 07/01/2003, 1:01pm PDT
I'm getting this from ClansRGay where I posted a few posts I apparently thought were interesting back then.

I think I'll go through the entire ClansRGay archive today. It will be a slow day of reading and reading and sitting here on my ass. I need cigs though. It will be comfortable.

PS: this is about ARCANUM.

But I see a billion buttons, squares, boxes, lists, books, springs, pieces of metal, broken guns, numbers, lights, controls, options, spells, skills, arrows, hands, arrow-buttons, and THINGS that are never ever explained. I don't know what that saltpeter does, but when I tried using it at my party member, it threw it at him, and his reaction thingy went from about 63 (sixty three--he likes me) to -1000 (NEGATIVE ONE THOUSAND--SCREAMING ASSFUCK ETERNAL HATRED). I tried putting a new suit on, and it said I can't weild it. Well WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? Am I not strong enough, is it not a wearable piece of armor thing?

I'm not really finding it TOO difficult to root through my inventory and quests/gossip journal thingy, but how exactly does that belt work? What are the Diablo 2-ish numbers on them, and what do they mean? What's the saltpeter do? Should I be carrying around all these plants when I already know I can't do shit with them? Can't I increase the mouse speed?

In the Fallout games, the quest was that you HAD to go find something. In this, you explore. I know that there's a huge overall quest in here, and it starts you off with smaller quests and you follow them around the world, but I just feel the game is TOO non-linear for me. I already have about 40 other non-linear or even linear games that I have to finish by now, I don't want another one. And I don't want to have to talk to a TON of people. I feel like I'm on the verge of talking to too many people. The interaction is okay, but I'm so courtiusghb(hgLKWLLWKEflewrhwk!!!!!) to everyone that I feel like lashing out and slicing someone from their neck to their NUTS.

For a steampunk game, there's too much dirt so far. Not in any big cities yet, though.
