At least as long as a party member performed a single action during a battle they got an equal share of the experience points, and they weren't divided amongst them, everyone got the same amount regardless.

2. .hack's "they all level on their own whether you use them or not, since they are supposed to be playing while you are playing anyway", and all you have to do is provide them with exceptional equipment from time to time.


.hack lost points for being based of an anime show with a concept as gay as that old Dungeons and Dragons cartoon. Beyond that I have no clue how it is. Any good?

Speaking of which, I just began FF7 last night, for the first time. I noticed something ominous in the instructions re: NPC's, that some will only "befriend" you depending on your choices. Does that mean the usual Squaresoft dialogue choices (1. Say what you really think about x character's dilemma and hurt their feelings 2. Be superfreshhelpfulpolite Japanese courtesy person, and issue some useless platitude) will matter beyond which broad tosses the blitzball like in FFX? Or whether you find them? Or what?


I'm not sure how good playng FF7 for the first time today would be. When it first came out, making the jump from FF6 to that was simply mindblowing. I disagree with ES; I thought the music score in 7 was great, maybe not quite as great as 6, but I still liked it (best lost boss music ever). 7 was the last FF game I thought had good music throughout (even a lot of people who liked 8 admit the music was pretty forgetable). Since then, Square has doomed all their good music to their shittiest games (Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Unlimited Saga). But yeah, the NPC interactions in FF7 dont really mean much. I think the only thing they affect is who you go on a date with in the gold saucer.
