No. That is not a plot. This is a warped copy of a cliche that even fucking goths would find overly melodramatic. Thee's and thou's for all.

Who, I might say, managed to take the concept of NPC AI a few generations back.

Nothing great, but I wouldnt say it sucked. Although I got it post "save anywhere" patch, so that might have something to do with it.


Here we get to the crux of my problem with it: Building on a system and world that has more variety and creativity than most RPG's^10, not to mention a wealth of options in terms of how to structure gameplay and character development, they shoehorned the VtM license into an aberrant, retarded cousin of second rate click-fighters everywhere. It's as if the only star wars game ever to come out was that shit racing game based on ep 1, or the only D&D license game were Icewind Dale.

I mean, for fucks sake, there wasn't any blood sucking. Any choice in character creation. Any fucking choice in the story line besides the fucking cliche surprise ending. For someone that takes MGS2 to task for every flaw (admittedly in many cases correctly), I am blown away by your inability to despise this game as you should.

Bottom line: hobbyist dorks and ex-dorks everywhere were expecting a certain minimal level of anything actually related to the game. Because, fundamentally, the problem with the paper n pen version, aside from the fact that it loses its charm somewhere shortly after 9th grade once females become more of a factor, is that most of the people that actually play it are colourless losers, not least of which is the biggest loser generally nominated to be the storyteller. Hence, when the opportunity comes for something to be delivered by professional geeks with nothing else to do for a living, it is crushingly disappointing to see them blow it.

The screenshots for this new one though, I'm seeing a FPS game with a gun and ammo counter on the side. Masquerade, the FPS??? On the plus side, it IS the HL2 engine, which I think means Fussbett and Creex already love it by default.


Why the hell not...it can't possibly be worse than what the Blood Omen series has been devolving into, so people are pretty well conditioned to mediocrity so long as it involves vampires.
