I bought Rage. It's such bland Carmack shit, and I didn't get out of the first room. They fucked up the "invert mouse" thing by not just letting you click once to flip it in Options, but by forcing you to have to click once to highlight it on the screen and then click again.
You know, you wonder why almost every creative or brilliant person eventually dissolves into making a long line of shit. Carmack and others prove that game makers are exactly like movie directors and musicians. It would honestly kill Carmack to find someone who had the same passion for games in the crew he had when he was making Doom and so forth. He would die, apparently.
It wasn't on Steam, but I bought one of the Indie bundles that had the Geneforge games from Spiderweb. I am going to let go any pre-conceived notions I might have when it comes to story and just hope the thing gives me interesting, Baldur's Gate 2-like tactics. I have incredibly low expectations for games these days.
