It was worth $6 or whatever I paid for it because I'm a sucker for 40K stuff, but mostly it was mostly just boring and half-assed.
Anything less and you can brainlessly execute everything.
Multiplayer is pretty solid.
It wasn't the difficulty that was the problem necessarily, there was just no variety. There's only a handful of enemy types, chaos only shows up for the last bit and there's only three different kinds of them. You don't really have any variation or progression in your combat abilities throughout the game, except for a couple of stand-out awesome jumppack levels which are super fun. Why not more like that? Why not the whole game like that?
I can't say I hated it, and I played the whole thing (all 4 hours of it), it just seemed really thin. Your overarching mission is to secure a titan, but when you succeed in powering that sucker up you don't get to walk around stomping shit and blasting apart huge mobs of orcs -- it all happens in a cutscene. I found that super disappointing but emblematic of the game's general lack of ambition.
I haven't tried multiplayer. |
