All right, here we go. A Badlands PCB. Quarter Arcade is awesome in the fact that they test the hell out of whatever they send, they only list stuff in stock, and they are run by a totally stand-up guy. I bought the Zoo Keeper score save kit from them.
The bad news is that their prices are a little high on everything. You are basically paying a little extra because you know their shit works. Also, they say that it requires a "streering" wheel; is QuarterArcade working with an Asian?
But $70 for a PCB isn't bad at all. Some loser installed the "multi shot kit" to my Asteroids board, and if I want another one because I assume I will remove the kit badly, it's going to be at least $120 and probably $150. In the meantime, I am just stopping myself from holding the "fire" button down. Board prices on pre-JAMMA stuff seems to be going higher, but it will be a while before the same thing happens to later games, I would guess.
If it's just a bad PCB on your Badlands, then that's not so bad. Replacing a JAMMA board is very easy. I'm talking all big because I just assembled a working Arkanoid out of a "The Pit" cabinet, a power supply and parts (a board, spinner and wiring harness from two different sources). We can do this shit! You honestly should not let swapping the board stop you from getting the game going. It's definitely possible that something else went wrong with the game, but at least we'll know.
If it was a bad PCB, you can sell your broken one on eBay and make a few bucks back, as well. Just know that I will drop everything to get your game running. Badlands looks like a lot of fun, offer not good if you find yourself with a broken Donkey Kong 3 or something.
