The answers are badly computer animated monsters, Matrix moments, and a constant, unrelenting RAWK soundtrack. It looks like Apocalypse has over ten times the amount of each. Milla now runs vertically down the side of a building(?!) and jumps through stained glass windows on a motorcycle and crashes it into monsters. Dear Hollywood, that is now the action movie equivalent of telling a rogue cop to turn in his badge. Please stop. Also, is anyone scared by stiff moving, plastic looking CGI monsters? How about when the hero is capable of Matrix shit? As bad as the CGI monsters are, the Nemesis (Resident Evil 3 villain for those unaware) is worse. Some tall dude decked out in a rubbery mask carrying a rubbery looking rocket launcher. Yes, a rocket launcher. THE HORROR! It looks like the cheesiest tall monster costume effects since Battlefield Earth. Verdict: Will probably be worth a half-hearted viewing when you catch it playing on HBO and have nothing better to do than hope Milla flashes her hoonany hair again.
