I never played NWN because it was originally a solo game that let you hire a henchman. I take it they changed this for NWN2? I know they wanted to create a good experience for multiple human players in the original, but anyone that shows up to a meeting and presents a business case for a D&D game with one fucking character only should have been let go. The ENTIRE point of D&D is co-operation between characters/players and the chief benefit of the computer is that it can simulate being your pal.
Huh? I'm not following you here at all. Did you want it to be like Baldur's gate where you could control a whole party? Or were you unable to play multiplayer with other people? I'm confused. All I know is, after numerous patches and expansion packs, NWN was one of the funnest multiplayer games out there, IMO.
I've toyed with a response all day. I can't express my opinion without coming off like a big, floppy fag. I guess it comes down to the devs constantly defining their game (NWN1) by what it wasn't (Baldur's Gate) as opposed to what it was. D&D with one character is Diablo. Diablo is a fine game, it just shouldn't have the D&D franchise attached to it. Ah well, who gives a crap ultimately.
Hey Worm - how many characters can you control at once in NWN2? Six by chance?

Just because it's D&D, do dragons need to be in the game? by Worm 11/21/2006, 12:38am PST
