I really need to get that FAQ up.
You know, for all the (undeserved, except for design theory) critical praise this game gets, I've just realized that the only people who I ever see saying this game is great are either professional game reviewers (who are all whores) or people devoted (fanatical in a few cases) enough to frequent official fan sites. Every single other person I've talked to that does not belong in either of those catagories has expressed their dislike for this game. I sent a link of this review to an email buddy and to the message board of some faggy little browser based game I play, in both instances the responses were "holy shit, I remember that game! I gave up after my sixth pistol broke and 50th wrench beating of some cheating respawned enemy. Yeah, that game wasn't too good". Like someone else here said, people who praise this game as the best thing ever probably just concentrated on what it promised and could have been and didn't recognize that in execution it didn't quite live up to expectations.
And please do NOT pull that "LOL wut an idiot. I bet he cant handle anything more than Quake. This game can only be appreciated by TRUE GENIUSES like us". You just embarress yourself and the more reasonable SS2 fans who may actually have a few legitimate reasons for liking this game other than some deluted sense of gaming elitism. Erik of Old Man Murray explained this kind behavior best in his article on adventure games. Just replace "adventure game fans" with "System Shock 2 fans" and you'll see my point.
