Final Fantasy Tactics, right? No.
Here's my tactical squad gaming experience:
X-COM: Probably the best game ever made.
X-COM II: If I wanted to play as Black Manta, I'd go get the new Aquaman game.
X-COM: Apocalypse: I know this game got shit on, but I liked it.
Breach II: Loved it. Can recommend it without hesitation, regardless of how old it is.
Breach III: Fucking terrible. Still bitter about this one. Was to the Breach franchise as Clooney was to Batman's.
Jagged Alliance: Liked it.
Jagged Alliance II: Liked it, inexplicably stopped playing it and haven't yet been back. Will someday.
Fallout Tactics: Got it recently. It's sitting on my hard drive, installed and everything, just been too busy to start it.
Freedom Force: HGLUAHGLUA
And while technically RPGs, they had some squad-based tactics to 'em:
BG1, BG2, Icewind Dale, Icewind Dale II: BG2 more than the others, but liked them all.
Fallout, Fallout II: Solid.
Shadows Over Riva: Loved it.
So anyway, I like having complete control over my guys, like in X-COM 1 & 2. Names, abilities, qualifications, etc. I appreciate JA's funny, but wish I had an option to make people from scratch alongside Mike and Tex and everyone. While I prefer that, it's not required.
I just did a search for FFT. The first thing I'm wondering is whether or not this clown has a chip on his shoulder regarding Hal Jordan and not himself, being the first Green Lantern on Earth.
If I ignored FFT, it's probably because there's no place I trust for console reviews, except for this forum. Do you give it a thumbs-up?
