Check the hat when the characters are first introduced. You can make it out, although you have to be quick. On a related note, how could you not like Matthews? He's a drunken dishonest space captain up to his eyeballs in debt in an astonishingly fast ship with amusing crewmates and robots.

In other words, he's Han, with a cool hat.

I was going to say, he was a good character like about 20 years ago when it was marginally original. But then you beat me to it of course.
