For the record: christ, nuke Iraq all you want America, blow the whole fuckin' middle east sky high, but don't tell me you're doing it for anything but the oil..
I'm not sure of the logistical sense it makes, so lets just let it be my crazy little pet theory. I think there's more support for this war in the Arab world than is being let on, at least in their gov'ts. One by one, you'll see them start to come around as the zero hour approaches and they see we are for real about ousting Saddam. Sure, they'd rather broker a deal to get him to run off to Algeria or where the fuck ever, but they'll accept our way too. Again, by "they" I mean the govt's, not the factions of evil bad crazy niggas.
Assuming the sentiment for seeking liberation is as widespread among John q. Iraqi as we hope and the military action is as swift and clean as we hope, America stands to gain significant strides in the world of public opinion. Potentially, anyway. I know about HAMAS and Hezbollah urging Arabs worldwide to suicide bomb US soldiers if an occupation occurs, but this only reinforces my point. If we liberate the country, I mean give them access to what we call freedom and actually improve the quality of life for them, then we might reduce the pool of people who are targeted for martyr recruitment. I mean, since we're gonna get the oil anyway, we might as well go for the triple-word score.
Yeah, I know, changing a regime and occupying an Arab nation whilest being white and Judeo-Christian will agitate many centuries-old wounds in the middle-east, but I think I speak for a good part of the world when I say fuck the prime directive: it's high time these sandniggers joined the 19th century. The sooner they finish getting over the Crusades, the better. And what better way to help that along than by finally getting that fuckin' Palestinian State afloat. I think, and again, this is my "pet theory", that sucess* in Iraq(it'll be up to history on how this is measured) will stregthen our hand in doing so, both in instilling some hope in the Palestinan public that we'll finally come to their aid and in having an extra bargaining chip to get Isreal to deal(not sure we need it, but we would be tidying up one of their borders).
There's a million reasons why this is only the remotest of possibilities and likelihoods, and I look forward to reading them all shortly. But the questions were something like:
"Why now?"
"what do we have to gain, if not oil?"
To which I say:
Now's probably the best time for a number of reasons, the most practical of which being momentum. We have it, and with it we are slowly gaining support.
How about everything else positive besides the motherfucking oil that may come from it. I can't argue against the persuasive nature of greed, but I think there's plenty more at stake here besides the fucking oil. You see greed as our driving force here, right? That's an alarmingly shallow viewpoint to take, but I don't expect you to make any concessions about it. I'm sure you can prove to your own satisfaction that every war ever fucking fought was over the earth's finite resources. I think the devil is in the details. Yes, we will be regulating Iraq's oil production shortly. Yes, its a big fucking reason to go in. Is it the only gain we have to make from this deal? Is it? Only time will tell for sure, but I don't see this rediculously stupid country fumbling about that you see. I see a country planning it's survival during a time in which its mortality has been made public.
Of course, there's always Canada. I mean, it's not like they're going to be sending as many troops... |
