Especially if hundreds of thousands of words are your thing (read a book faggot). My point was only that enshrining it without an admission of its flaws and our biases, which are for many people minimized by the gulf of time, was bound to create divisive arguments about whether it was great or a pile of dogshit. Torment's too interesting as a milestone in gaming to be fuel for an eternal skub/antiskub argument. The game was great in its day and other games have outshone it in part, occasionally challenged it in whole. Which games? That's a rabbit hole of human subjectivity, for you it's Dragonfall and for me it's some list of shit you'd probably LOVE to argue about and accept or reject and that's something you can do on your own time with other people's favorites, it's all down to how they were affected by what in the end. There is no objective answer where some number of hours of recorded time from some voice actors you like or whatever is a factor, I'm not trying to grind out a formulaic model or compare top-five lists. That's really not what I come here for. My reductive take on PS:T didn't end with an Out of Eight rating. It was never about that. The thing about the narrative in Torment is it's very thematically unwieldy, heavy - occasionally when other games don't try to match it for sheer narrative volume they are able to tell a more loaded narrative than 'believe in yourself, yo' with good execution. Sometimes they don't do it with such a huge pile of words. Sometimes they employ theatrical elements. The way you come out in its defense looking for a fight makes me think you're up in the clouds somewhere. Chasing a fantasy. Come back down to earth, man. Be real. Settle down. Here: Stop asking me where you can find a twelve out of ten and just dance with the one who brung you for once without demanding we go over every inch of her garters.
