I do a random draft order for fantasy football each year to see who gets the first through twelfth picks. We have two "slow payers." These are guys, now in their 40s, who have to be badgered to send fucking checks. (Neither of them use Paypal, of course! Why would they go and do a thing like that?) I am looking for an excuse to drop them both, but they have both managed to figure out my boil-over point and stay below it.
(My brother is not as easy-going as me. One year, well after the season was over, he told one of them that unless he received the $100 league fee in 48 hours, he was going to ban the guy forever. Two days later there was an overnight box from FedEx on his porch, the contents of which included enough crumpled-up 1s, 5s and 10s to equal a hundred bucks on the dot. It wasn't a "send pennies out of spite thing," but more a case of the guy desperately scrambling to come up with the cash as quickly as possible so he didn't get banned.)
Anyway, there was a stretch where one of these clowns got the #1 pick three years in a row. I could have punished them for being slow-payers and considered that first number a "practice" roll, but honestly, someone has to take a stand with random number generation. Yes, Tdarcos's Colossal Cave review contained more anachronisms and incorrect information about Colossal Cave than any other post I've seen in my life. Yes, he didn't actually review Duke Nukem 3D. But the guy gave it his best effort, and that's all I want out of anyone here.
That said, what's the current etiquette for attending a wet t-shirt contest these days when it comes to cell phones? Is it just expected that everyone's going to be shooting video?
