I've fallen through the world once, and gotten about 3 crash to desktop errors.
I keep getting stuck in furniture when I'm swinging a melee weapon and my character walks into the furniture as he steps foward during the animations. No way to get out. Reload.
Also desktop crashes about once in every 3 play sessions. Alt + tabbing out then trying to get back in results in permanent black screen and crazy hard drive loading.
They should've either combed for bugs and released after HL2, or just wait for the HL2 SDK to come out and code around the idea of a giant professional grade total conversion.
Didn't they finish this months before HL2, but had to sit on it until that was released? What were they doing all that time?
Does the game ever open up and become less linear in terms of choices and paths (not counting simply being able to choose what order you do quests)? I just started dicking around in the Downtown and it seems like it's shaping up where you get to make a choice if you're going to side with the Anarchs, Camerella, or your own clan. Also, how much of a difference does what clan you belong to make? At first it just seemed like it only affected your starting stats, but I'm Tremer and I just got into the Downtown Tremer chantry so I guess it affects something.
P.S. Tied with Republic for worst opening "answer questions to determine your class/faction" segment ever. The answers to every question basically boil down to "do you solve your problem by fighting or sneaking?". Then instead of the obvious Gangrel or Nosferatu result, I always get something like Toreador or Tremere no matter what. I eventually said fuck it and went with the clan that lets you make your enemies puke up blood and commit suicide, the Tremer. |
