Ray of Light: if you still play cards, you should give 6-tabling a shot
Ray of Light: it's fucking sick
...
Ray of Light: Volume is key. My goal is to do 50k hands this month = about 100 hours of play
Sanitario666: My goal is to finish the MAME cabinet.
Sanitario666: I expect to be down afterwards. Financially.
Ray of Light: can you explain the concept of a push-pull spinner
Sanitario666: Haha
ElKoba: so, not to be a n00b or anything... but a spinner is just a thing that spins?
ElKoba: like the Night Driver controller?
Sanitario666: It spins, and its hooked up to an optical wheel and various electronics that turn the information into a USB signal.
Sanitario666: But on that surface, yeah, it's just a left/right rotating wheel.
ElKoba: ok
Sanitario666: Arkanoid.
ElKoba: then what the hell is push/pull?
Sanitario666: ICJ needs a push/pull for "Discs of Tron", the one game in the world that uses it. I'm just never going to play that game. And buy a $70 spinner instead.
ElKoba: what is a push/pull spinner?
Sanitario666: You pull it, and that triggers a button, and you push it down, and that triggers another button.
ElKoba: ahhhh
Sanitario666: You manipulate the spinner up and down.
ElKoba: so you could just map another button to get the same effect. but that wouldn't be authentic
Sanitario666: Right.
ElKoba: ok
Sanitario666: Or maybe it's hard because you're actually pressing ANOTHER button at the time. I'm not familiar with Discs of Tron.
ElKoba: I think I played it once when I was like 8 :(
ElKoba: so, same
Sanitario666: But it's probably pretty nice that when you pull the spinner, the disc goes up.
ElKoba: I don't remember it being 3d?
Sanitario666: Yeah it's pseudo-3D
Sanitario666: Don't confuse it with "Tron". It's not Tron.
ElKoba: Discs of Tron is not Tron?
Sanitario666: Correct
Sanitario666: http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=7594
ElKoba: oh did the Tron game have like a bunch of tron games?
Sanitario666: yeah
ElKoba: light cycle and shit?
Sanitario666: yes, and tanks and shoot the face.
ElKoba: ok
ElKoba: I guess I figured it was all the same
ElKoba: with my hazy memories
ElKoba: playing it at disneyland
Sanitario666: I'm glad I have no memories of Discs of Tron.
Sanitario666: It sounds like a big hassle.
ElKoba: http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=10204&letter=T
ElKoba: yah, this is what I remember
ElKoba: also that it I could never figure out what you were supposed to do except in the cycle one
Sanitario666: Well ICJ never pushed nor pulled the spinner of DoT, and it was his favourite game.
ElKoba: hahaha
Sanitario666: So it's standard to not understand Tron. Both the movie and games.
ElKoba: so now he has to get a push/pull spinner to fix his broken childhood
Sanitario666: If only all childhood scars were so easily healed.
Ray of Light: oh I played this game
Sanitario666: Maybe you can start 6 Troning
Ray of Light: true story about it: my mom is a big believer in ESP; it was this game that convinced me ESP didn't exist. Because I tried to make it give me more credits WITH MY MIND
Ray of Light: I feel stupid even telling that story, even though I was 11 at the time
Ray of Light: and came out of it smarter
Sanitario666: I like your crazy parent stories.
Sanitario666: I feel there are lots more of these stories.
Ray of Light: you have no idea
Sanitario666: I think I have an idea! |
