Since you need every post deconstructed for you like a moron, I figure I'm the man for the job, being the author of the post in question, and I certainly like talking about me and my work here.
Another entry in the dramatis personae. by Fussbett 12/29/2005, 11:48pm CST Ok so to start off in the title, I point out that Choson has entered another name into the dramatis personae. Dramatis personae is latin for "people of the drama", I believe. It's a list of the major players in a play and I've even seen it used at the beginning of some of the gayer sci-fi novels. The drama in question is obviously (maybe not to you, of course) this thread; the Ray/Sassy Sex Adventure, And Who Is Angry About It. Though you may not realize it from the title alone, the new entry is Horrible Gelatinous Blob. Most people won't remember this until they read the actual body content and see the quoted Choson text. The title is a little humourous because there isn't actually a dramatis personae, and in fact, there isn't even a drama proper. It's just a thread on an internet forum. This sort of aggrandizement is often used in comedy, being in the same family as hyperbole and exaggeration.
(The date and time are irrelevant, unless you see me posting on a Friday or Saturday night, which can be used for a zinger later).

Implication after implication! Who is next to be named by the namer of names? Frank McGillicutty, bink and Zseni -- you're all on notice! In the final sentence I guess at who will be the next person to be called to speak about this event. The three names are clearly (maybe not to you) ridiculous examples, and show how surprised I was by Horrible Gelatinous Blob being called to the stand. I expected Blob as much as I expected Frank McGillicutty (who may or may not be an ator person), bink (who is crazy and doesn't post under doctor's orders) and Zseni (who self-banned herself from Caltrops and AIM). Note that the three names are in order of increasing absurdity. That's a little comedy trick.
Perhaps you read this as an indictment of Choson, likening him to an unscrupulous monster such as Kazan, and since Choson and Ray are clearly on opposite sides of the Sassy sex, a Choson diss is automatically a defensive post for Ray of Light. It's tenuous, but if you want to claim this as your misunderstanding, I'll agree that my analogy could've been clearer, and you should be smarter. Choson isn't literally a snitch, since we do really want to know these things and gossip is helpful to Caltrops. Besides, that would make FullofKittens the House Committee on Un-American Activities, and he isn't, despite the fact that some mean poster has joked that he's as big as a house.
Instead of the McCarthy line, I did consider going for a gay "outing" metaphor, but ditched it since my goal wasn't to call Blob gay, and I preferred thinking of Choson and Blob AIM discussions as the Communist Party in early 20th century America, rather than some kind of gay relationship. I think they prefer that too.
I know I switched metaphors from drama to 1950s communist witch hunts, but I feel there is sufficient conceptual space between title and post that these detachments can be done on occasion. I often use the title for one line or thought and the body text for the second thought, and I feel it works pretty well. It's efficient. Maybe I'm wrong, though, and these two concepts confused you. I'll have to think about this for future posts.
