Okay, so Haslett isn't the guy who's team has given up on him for the last three years? I thought YOU said that, although I can't find it so maybe I imagined you saying that. Anyway, there's this thread.

Yeah, well, they definitely gave up this year. What a horrible performance. Darren Howard (DE) reached a new low in quitting on the season - he literally quit. Since he is going to be a free agent at the end of the season and they are not going to bring him back he's just... not playing any more. Thanks for the hard work, Darren!

But forget that. You're right, Norv Turner is definitely worse than Haslett and has had two chances at head coaching. So unless Saint's Stench prevents owners from even considering Haslett, he's almost guaranteed another chance somewhere. So what are his motivations for staying with the team? The owner is the biggest bastard on Earth, apparently. I still think the 5 year offer is an offer that'll be rejected out of hand but still give him the appearance of trying to be reasonable.

Yeah, "five years" is probably going to be negotiated down to "five minutes after the season ends."

Do all Saint's fans take pride in loving the worst team in the NFL? I mean, I guess it's all a Saint's fan's got.

No, no... I'd trade it all for a little more (winning). It's like when Red Sox fan won the World Series. They wanted everyone to believe that losing wasn't their trademark. I just know that teams have had strings of very good seasons (The 49ers, the Bills, Packers) EVEN THOUGH they were once a laughingstock for many, many years. I just want what everyone else gets.

P.P.S Tell us more about the fixed post-911 game?

I tried to find specifics for the last week, but couldn't. Blame my memory. Basically, I remember being outraged as each big play the Saints reeled off was called back for holding that couldn't be identified on film and so on and so forth. I reserve the right to come back here with more data if I can find a game tape or something. But I'm 100% confident that the tape will show how the NFL desperately wanted the Giants to win there if the game is viewed. Then they wanted the G-men to win in 2005 so they moved the game to NY. Whenever we get the Giants in normal settings we beat up on them so bad it gives rise to things like "The Cellphone Incident."
