| Okay, so Haslett isn't the guy who's team has given up on him for the last three years? I thought YOU said that, although I can't find it so maybe I imagined you saying that. Anyway, there's this thread.
But forget that. You're right, Norv Turner is definitely worse than Haslett and has had two chances at head coaching. So unless Saint's Stench prevents owners from even considering Haslett, he's almost guaranteed another chance somewhere. So what are his motivations for staying with the team? The owner is the biggest bastard on Earth, apparently. I still think the 5 year offer is an offer that'll be rejected out of hand but still give him the appearance of trying to be reasonable. Do all Saint's fans take pride in loving the worst team in the NFL? I mean, I guess it's all a Saint's fan's got. The Broncos used to be lovable losers and Denver fans were okay with that for a long long time -- but mostly back before I was born. The fans chanted "we love you Broncos" in the waning moments of the Dallas Super Bowl game (I was three). So then we became lovable Super Bowl losers, although actually the heartbreak of just not showing up to the game against the 49ers caused the local news to run hotlines for psychologists. But now that we're winners, there's no way in HELL anyone wants to go back to that. Losing is now totally unacceptable. So I guess I'm spoiled, after a fashion. P.S.
