Re: Okay, advice needed by The Shadow of Anonymity 10/12/2005, 3:07am PDT Engineering points increase the number of "points" or whatever you can use to buy new weapons at the end of a mission. Science points increase the rate that you can scan ships. Big hint: Scan everything. A lot of really good weapons are only available if you've scanned enough ships/things/whatever that have them or relate to them. Concentrated fire with anti-shield weapons is usually enough to take down most ships' shields, iirc. I generally had 1 or two ships with a lot of anti-shield weapons, and then equipped the Angelwing with a crapton of anti-hull weapons and one or two anti-shield guns. Torpedos also kill shields pretty quick, so make sure you use them whenever you have the ammo.
