Seeing it on sale this week made all the rage come back boiling by fabio 06/28/2014, 10:43am PDT I could never get into Homeworld. To me, managing movement in true 3D space was always way more trouble than it was worth. It's especially horrible in Nexus' awful interface. You CAN manually move ships in 3D but it's so ridiculous and pointless that you give up. Movement is then reduced to "move closer" and "back off", essentially making it a 1D game. What really killed the game for me was taking too goddamn long to kill anything. Shields, shield regen, and hulls could be cut by 4/5ths and then MAYBE the game would have decent pacing. It's a game of giving up on positioning, giving up on strategy, and just ordering your ships to concentrate fire and hoping that the bars on the side of the screen will start going down 10 minutes later. That basically makes it an even more boring version of EVE Online's combat. A MORE BORING SINGLE PLAYER EVE!!!!! THINK ABOUT THAT!
