It does? In the demo the fixed camera angles zoomed in to each selected ship made Battleships indistinguishable from corvettes or destroyers, except for the little tiny icon on the side. In fact, all the pretty graphics are a total waste since you just spend your entire time looking at all the sidebar icons: look at the sidebar icons to click and give order, watch the little health bars on the sidebar icons deplete, etc.
