Engineers need to get more points for repairing. Support/medic get a point for every picked up kit they litter the ground with.

I think the medic healing point is given for healing at least half of a damaged player, not per med kit picked up.

Probably, but you get the point just for instantly dropping the kit and having some wounded dude (never in short supply) pick in up. Meanwhile over in engineer land, I have to spend one full minute restoring 2 full wrench bars worth of stuff. The only time I've ever gotten points for repairing things was during a single player game where some glitch prevented the artillery from being repaired and I spent 5 minutes and three full wrench bars trying in vain to repair it.

The medic's profession can be enjoyed in the middle of fun combat, while the engineer is limited there unless he's with a giant vehicle convoy (good luck getting friendly vehicles to stick together).

I think everyone agrees with you, because I've fought in countless Karkand battles, but still haven't even SEEN the dam, nor one other Chinese map.

Everytime I try to find an open ranked server, the ones with open slots are always either the dam, operation clean sweep, or gulf of oman. The dam is an unnavigatable hell, clean sweep is a boring island hop water level, oman.....oman actually isn't that bad, it's just I'm so burned out on it from the demo. Don't people want to play new maps already?

There's the semi-good news that these maps always being open is a sign that nobody likes them. Though I can only find 3-4 ranked servers total running Karkand. Fuck auto-shuffle. Keep it all Karkand, all the time.

My beef with the boring maps is water. Fuck fucking water aleady. A great use of water is for an aircraft carrier ala Gulf of Oman. The occasional beach raid or carrier strike is fine, or using water as a boundary, but otherwise water represents SLOWNESS in any map. Do we like driving around those rubber rafts (or "Kevorkian Machines" as I call them)? No. No we don't. Those Cambodian maps from BFV would be great in BF2 with a little expansion. Someone should get on that.

Totally agreed. Not just in this game, but for the RTS genre also. About one quarter of all threads in the C&C Generals forum were people whining for naval units. Fuck naval units. Fuck water. They slow the game into island turtling, and there are only 4 types of naval units in any RTS (battleship, cruiser/destroyer, sub, transport). Boring. Slow.

Have you all tried the video camera missiles in the Apache yet? Is that awesome or what?

Yes, but the camera has an extremely limited viewing arc and almost none of the players who pilot the helicopters realize they have to point right at the target to allow the gunner to fire one off. It's like 95% of the players online have never read a single preview on the new features (squads) and skipped reading the manual entirely.

Question: For some reason it's not displaying the tiny grey text in the bottom left telling me when I kill someone or who killed me anymore. Did I accidently hit some button to disable it? How do I get it back?
