Hey Mohammed, I know what you're aims are, or could potentially be, now. Fuck you, you aren't making any goddamned statement on anything besides the landscape in some secluded area, far away from any populated target

What makes you think that isn't a legitimate terror attack? What if tomorrow, a half dozen 767s planted themselves in corn fields killing a few hundred passengers. Wouldn't that be a statement?

What if tomorrow, a half-dozen failed attempts to hijack and run a 767 into the the ground happened, with nobody dead but a dozen or so would-be hijackers? What's a terrorist when nobody is afraid of him anymore?

You're assuming that it's no longer possible for a small force (say 4-6 people) to take over an airliner. I'm afraid that you have much more faith than I have in a) airport security's ability to find simple weapons, and b) that you'll find a sufficient group of people able to organize themselves quickly enough to prevent somebody from flying a plane into the ground.

I've made a bunch of flights (10 or so) over the course of 2002, and about that many the year before 9/11. I don't feel the slightest bit safer now than before 9/11. Airport security is little more than the illusion of security. Having a couple national guardsmen standing at the security checkpoint with M16s doesn't make me feel any better about the minimum wage security flunky whose second job is flipping burgers at In-N-Out trying to find the razorblades.
