Anything you buy from that kid down the street who is someone a friend of your friend knows can't be guaranteed safe. Hell, like I said I even got bad shrooms one time, and had quite a disturbing trip. I haven't done mescaline or peyote, so if you're asking about their effects then I don't know. I was told not to do peyote unless I had a babysitter with me, but then again I've been told that about acid as well.

Here's a site I bookmarked a couple of years ago, probably not a definitive guide but it grabbed my attention at one point.

Staying away from the powders is a smart thing. I've had too many friends ruin themselves on smack, one of them dying for her troubles, and one of them having a heart attack at age 19 from coke. I've only ever touched pot, acid, and shrooms. I got to see the effects of everything else on my friends, and that was quite the deterrent.

Not that pharmaceuticals are any better. My lithium level is very close to toxic, which has caused problems a couple of times. Not much I can do about it.
