Not allowed to quickly erase all trace of Rita from the show, we must watch Dexter have custody issues with her 2 children.
Quinn continues to be a lame Doakes substitute by continuing to be suspicious of Dexter, which went nowhere last season. Spoiler: it continues to go nowhere.
Not learning their lesson from the low point that was season 3's main plot, they give Dexter another BFF partner, Julia Stiles. You will sit through the exact same scenes they already had with Jimmy Smitts that everyone hated. Perhaps they were shooting to draw in the rape whistle audience?
Dexter hires a nanny. Nothing has happened with her and I haven't watched all of season 6, but she will of course turn out to be psycho. If John Lithgow didn't kill Rita, then she did.
Angel and LeGuerta continue their relationship that no one cares about. Deciding that it wasn't boring enough, it moves from sneaking around about their relationship to an open marriage. This allows us to watch mundane spousal bickering. Angel takes over the Mr Roper role for this season as he spies LeGuerta in increasingly suggestive situations which turn out to be a misunderstanding.
Quinn gets Robocop to spy on Dexter. Remember all the tension as Doakes constantly kept tabs on Dexter? It will not be repeated. "I just followed him and took some pictures of him dumping bodies, duh." Remember the tension when Dexter had the final confrontation with Doakes? That's gone too! "Surely I will get my detective job back when I kidnap Dexter and make him confess under duress which will be useless in court!" *stab*
The complete 2 season arc of Quinn suspecting Dexter: Quinn suspects Dexter-->Quinn hires Robocop-->Quin gets blood on his shoe-->everyone drops the whole thing. The end.
