I don't think I've ever played a game where the sound just as important as the visuals. Most enemies give a very slight cue before they can see you, so you'll always have some idea of what's coming. A lot of the time they'll detect you through the walls, though, and that's never fun. If you get a proximity detector you'll hear a little beep beep sound going on whenever you're near an enemy. Maybe the key to immersion is just making the player ACTIVELY use as many senses as possible?
I'm convinced that the final boss fight is impossible due to the lag. Maybe if I turn the settings all the way down before stepping in, but there's nothing I can do gamewise to prepare for it. |
