It's the same fucking thing, every time a new Starcraft game is released we're subjected to like a week of your obnoxious screeching and insufferable fanboyism. It's not even coherent. God forbid some people point out flaws in a game. It's not like anything we say here is going to change anything. But when you're done getting pissed off that people aren't in love with mediocrity in gaming, I'd love to hear your thoughts on howe awesome was the latest Adam Sandler movie.


Nobody could or should invest real feelings into the single player campaign in Heart of the Swarm. Of course it's fucking terrible. Blizzard looks to the same pool of Matrix-inspired hacks for generating a lasting or meaningful single player story that everyone else does. It's the great failure of computer games and it will never be fixed.

However, pinback will shortly play (if he isn't already) it in multiplayer and then (and only then) will any opinions have any value. It's a multiplayer game with solo nonsense bolted on because some people are too frightened to play it online. This expansion pack, regardless of what you think about it, is the only game released in the last 2 years that has created a real emotional effect on real people: FEAR. The holy grail of interactive entertainment, and HotS pulled it off, if maybe accidentally. The multiplayer part of HotS should be respected for that alone.

I mean, Tom Chick wrinkling his nose at the solo campaign nonsense, giving it a 4 on Metacritic is missing the point. You ripping your tonsils out so you can bang and smear them against your screen because they picked one divergent path to be canon is missing the point. I can't believe you are actually mad about that. I am so mad at you irl about this. so mad irl. This is what these idiots do with video game sequels. Apparently it's not enough that they included three campaigns for the stupid goddamn races, but you want them to square their work to account for what I am sure was an elegant, Shakespearian decision to be made about moon bugs and space cunts. The people making computer games are aspie fucking dickhead libertarian engineers, not Robert Pinsky. Furthermore, the non-technical people working on Heart of the Swarm have garbage taste, garbage interests, garbage inspiration and produce garbage output. If they discounted some huge decision from the previous expansion, then GOOD. They showed it the respect that a Blizzard story deserves, which is no respect at all.

The single player crap is bad and bad for you and only exists to introduce the new units to the real players. It's included because it's slightly more entertaining than making the players worth a damn read an entry on a wiki.

You are correct that this is going to happen again in 2016. 300 people who haven't taken a single bath since they started at Blizzard are going to make another expansion, and half of that number brainstormed and worked hard and had meetings and their best title also has the word "of" in it. They are beneath you. I want to stress that, friend. The people making the SP campaigns ARE BENEATH YOU. I don't even play Starcraft 2 and I am fired up about this.

What I want to know is if the game that made eSports matter has a decent expansion pack or not.
