Re: Bought Dark Souls by Rafiki 12/25/2012, 7:56pm PST - Learn to dodge - Learn to dodge - Learn to dodge - If you keep getting hit or staggered, you need to dodge more - Dodging is the most important skill in the game and will usually give you 100% damage avoidance when timed right - The earlier you get comfortable with parrying, the better off you'll be later in the game - Classes are only really suggestions for starting stats and you can customize them into anything you want - Carry a few different weapon types and expirement often - Learn a little offensive magic - Check one of the wikis for how crafting works since it's basically unexplained - Check one of the wikis for what convenants exist and what the benefits are for the same reason as above - Absolutely check one of the wikis for how to access the DLC content since it's basically impossible that you'd ever figure it out on your own (you can't access it until later in the game) - You can't do co-op until after you beat the first boss (not the asylum demon) - The first boss above is weak against parrying - You can't leave messages until you buy the item in the undead burg - Don't hoard souls. Spend them on upgrades ASAP, unless you're specifically saving to buy an expensive item. Even then it's easy to farm if you absolutely have to - The game is not a hack n slash, so if you're running up to enemies and mashing the attack button you're playing wrong and you deserve to die - Pay attention to equipment weight because it will have an enormous effect on your playstyle. - Yeah, everyone hates that ledge in Anor Londo with the 2 archers
