It's good.

1. no, the gauss rifle is still the best weapon
2. that's true
3. There are three mech hangars in the whole game, and maybe a dozen tank spawners, all can be blown up huge. I wouldn't even compare it to gauntlet.
4. MA2 has an alpha strike but it's different than the traditional concept, it's a different weapon that instakills anything less than an assault mech.
5. yup :( Consoles are inferior systems.

7. The music isn't as good as the MW games but it's not that bad. They did licence KORN and fuckin disturbed or paparoach whatever nu-metal mallcore shit was selling big a few years ago the month I stopped listening to all popular music. I probably have never minded a korn song less than the one in this game. MA1 has more caulk rock looping than MA2.
8. Yes, that was pretty hot. And they sort of correct that "problem" in MA2 by having her in a very tight jumpsuit, but a real human being's body (less hot).

Off the top of my head:

Seriously, Armored Core Nexus is a solid 7/10 game, but that's two more points than MechAssault earns.


Armored Core, wasn't that the game which stole the idea from the Battletech board game of having swords and shit? The 40 ton raven in MA2 had ballistic shielding and a flamethrower, plus a gauss rifle, so in my scientific opinion the battletech universe sorta wins all competitions. The Mechassault games are also pretty not bad decent. I would rate MA2 higher, altho you don't get to even pick mechs at the start of missions anymore. That is the only negative point that the sequel has compared to the first game.

The Mechassault games are really just toys to tide me over until Mechwarrior 5 is released.
