I downloaded that 1000 DOS games thing that whoever posted and am more or less starting at the start, using old Computer Gaming World issues as a playbook. I had a z-machine interpreter on my work phone and Dosbox on my laptop to play to and from and occasionally at work, until I got fired and had to give them both back. Now I have a better job and am trying to rent a new place and build a house and buy a car and am having more children, and I'm still jonesing for fucking Bard's Tale. My approach in the ten minutes a week I actually get to play has been mad dashes from the guild to fight maybe two battles and if I earn more gold than I spend I save and backup the save file. I do all my mapping in Paint, which is probably the stupidest part of all this, though the competition is fierce. A guy at work says I should probably be playing all these on an Amiga emulator instead and he's probably right.
Wizardry sucks, by the way.
Catlprods note: After a few months' absence the first things I click on in a casual browse are this thread and :(. Just when I thought I was out, etc. |
