I still haven't given up on my Dark Queen of Krynn campaign. by Last 01/08/2009, 12:02pm PST
Champions of Krynn was one of the first games I ever played, so of course I thought it could never be surpassed. The level 2-3 spell "stinking cloud" had a 75% chance of taking ANY enemy out of the fight, even big ol dragons and things. Probably some skeletons were immune but really not much else was. It didn't feel cheap, though, it felt fucking awesome!

I got Death Knights of Krynn the next year and beat it, felt great. I didn't get DQoK until I went to college, and I got about halfway through before putting it down for whatever reason. I have the old save game on my current machine, though. I should take a Saturday morning and just muscle through the rest of it for the closure alone. My birthday is coming up, and that's about the perfect day to waste some hours on a complete indulgence before gorging on pie and bourbon and strippers.

Thanks, MM, for reminding me of those gold box games!
