No, it isn't. Do you know this soldier personally? His answer was completely inappropriate. It was first evasive, then facile and condescending. Is that a good leader? Having so little respect for your subourdinates that you can't give them a straight answer? Hardly. Rumsfeld has played that game with everyone since he took office, and the press finally found a way to jump him for the flip daily browbeatings he doled out over the last four years.

"We're working on it" would have been an infinitely better choice than a preposterous cock-and-bull line about violating the laws of physics.

From a tactical perspective, sure, which is why you have a chain of command to raise things with, so that the hard luck answers that must be given from on high are ameliorated by whatever those below can do to compensate.


You won't find me disagreeing with this; while I'm not going to make any comments about, clearly, how much of a giant faggot Spc. Wilson is, I do think it was in poor judgement to frame the question in the first place.
