Yeah, I can see that. I'm not having that easy a time with the lower ranks/billets myself, differentiating between team leaders and the others. This is where the vehicle shots come in handy. Assume the person riding shotgun is in charge of that vehicle so you can at least have a visual association for team leaders.

The rest will come with time. I think one of the tricky things is that they avoid naming the people they portray as fuckups, or at least Fick did in his book, scrupulously, not sure whether Evan Wright followed the same approach.

The only real downside would be that I've already seen Jarhead. I hope and expect it to diverge from Jarhead as recon gets deeper in Iraq, since they're not snipers.

I'll like it more now that you gave it a pass. I guess I really just want a documentary.

I think it's a pretty different story from Jarhead. I expect we're in for a lot of WTF moments as opposed to just ass kicking, but that depends on how Simon budgets his time.
