So now you hate GalCiv because your laptop is terrible. But you do touch on the one topic that I was attempting to discuss. The answer to my question above is "no". You could have just said so.
Speaking of insanity. Nevermind that Stardock themselves admitted in fall 2007 that the game actually rendered every single fleet group on a tile, and with the way the AI liked to stack it would slow things to a crawl. Then they actually fixed that. Then they released a patch that basically corrupted all the custom shipfiles and made your saves unplayable, so unless you were prepared to leave GalCiv II on for weeks on end you were screwed.
I may be dodging your question, but at least my posts don't belong on HardOCP.
You never learned how to put more/better engines on your constructors? But sure, yes, this sounds easier.
Which increases their costs and build times exponentially. Do you realize just how many upgrades it takes just to make a GalCiv II starbase decent? Start at 10.
So, what, you can't attack them? I don't get it. Or are you saying that when someone blows up your massive starbase that took forever to build, you feel bad?
Why do you even care? Because your laptop caught fire? It's tragic, it really is.
I like big ships, you overacting queen.
I routinely crush computer opponents who neglect defenses in GalCiv. (Granted I play on "painful".) Your argument that you suck at one game and not the other, while being an excellent reason for YOU to play this game, isn't too compelling as a reason why I would want to. I might try to convince a friend of mine to get it so I can at least see this mod. I ain't picking up Civ4 just to take a look.
So I'm really playing Galactic Ship Blueprints II. Fascinating. I always tried to build a combined-arms ship. Lower strength, lower armor, but a healthier balance of all three categories. I found that this playstyle was basically impossible and it was better to just produce fighters/heavy fighters with 65 points in a single shooty category. How is this different from queuing up Rhino/Grizzly tanks in Red Alert 2 and jacking yourself off until you win? |
