You should probably enlighten your ass as to the proper usage of the semicolon; I am wounded to see you abuse my favorite punctuation. BUSTED: your ass, for creative misappropriation of the zsenicolon.
The original clause contained "it is" at the beginning. Sequential edits shortened it to the present state of phrasality without converting the semi to an emdash. I kept the semi because the two sentences were designed around being mirror images of one another, and Incoherence does not shackle grammar. Think of it as a Hieronymous Bosch triptych. Heaven on the left, Hell on the right, and you, Mundane, in the middle.
If you're a laser, it's a bad drag job. Lasers are coherent by definition. Your pleochroic spangles slot not with the laser's characteristic spectral purity. BUSTED: your ass, for misuse of science-y sounding words.
A locus is also (usually) a curve, which isn't particularly laser-like. The metaphors, while initially appearing sound, were set 180 degrees out of phase. The sentence itself is a Manichean oscillation, and oscillates on another layer when set against the static imagery, subject, and grammar of the first.
I give you art, and you nitpick my grammar. Hack. You're going to be the one making sure that all the i's are dotted and t's crossed...IN HELL!
