Yeah, but I'd only play virtually any FF ever since FF9 kicked me in the junk if I were, I don't know, trapped in a warzone with chronic insomnia and nothing better to do. That's what made me slog through FF1&2 last year, and got me through IV so far. Playing it on a rom would imply that I had a computer handy much of the time...a DS is far more portable, has great battery life, and most importantly plays Ouendan as well.
Wait until they strand you in a mysterious mirror universe type country (or something, wasn't paying attention) that has no towns and only harder enemies. Except I can identify with that in real life LOL.
I don't even know how I got out of that, but it sure didn't make me question their original decision to not release this in the US.
Alas, I have the strategy guide, so I know exactly how to get out of it. It is promising (SPOILER!!!!) to merge with the previous world relatively soon, and is thus not that big a deal. Towns are mostly wastes of my time anyway. The first castle in the other world is already exponentially better than any town, simply because its basement includes a perfect timesink for job levelling. So other than the need for a guide, you're wrong. FF is all about the mechanics of levelling + combat, at least at the vintage level before it became a competition to put the most feathery blond fruit possible in the role of lead.
Yes, I have XII now. It's sitting right next to Bully and Okami on my shelf. What's in the PS2? God Hand. I make no excuses for this, other than my previous Ninja Gaiden affliction is demonstrating a pattern that, oddly enough, Devil May Cry refuses to fit into. |
